Where would you buy thinly sliced steak for cheesesteak?

Usually its rib eye, sliced very thin. Ask a butcher, they should be able to do it. Or get a really sharp knife and put ribeye in freezer for an hour or so.

Butcher recommended.

Milanesia or whatever it's called from any store.

I recommend getting a ribeye and slicing it as this as possible.

Buy a flank or london broil or such steaks similar, and slice away. To get thinner slices place in the freezer for 30-45 minutes then cut away.

Some groceries sell pre-sliced beef for this purpose in the frozen food section.
