What food is Seattle known for?

GF is going soon and too lazy to post. What food can she look forward to and what will be good? Restaurant recommendations around downtown would be great also.

The seafood was amazing. If she is there during copper river salmon season, tell her to get that

If looking for great restaurants, went for LSU - Washington game. Ate at 2 terrific restaurants, both downtown. Steelhead Diner (Ruffin Rodriguez was in there) had great seafood meal. Champagne - fabulous French restaurant. Both are not large restaurants. Steelhead has a Louisiana connection. Champagne is true French food.

When we were there, I had Fish and Chips at two different restaurants and both were awesome.

Th seafood offerings of the Northwest are to do foods. Dungeness crabs, the oysters are a different species than the GOM version, as stated earlier salmon, but also king crab is at the doorstep too. Beer, and more beer as it is the land of micro-breweries.

Whatever you do, don't eat at the space needle. The prices are way too high. You're pretty much paying for the view.
The dessert was the best part of the meal. You can't make it out cause they used dry ice with ice cream and cake.
I included the view from the space needle also.
