Does anyone have good info on growing tomatoes in pots. I live in Uptown N.O. I want to grow some on my deck but I have two main concerns. Sunlight and critters (and I don't mean gophers). Any suggestions?

Easter is very late this year, you should be fine to put them in now, the only problem you would have is if we get another frost, if so just put a bucket over them at night. I even saw some pecan trees budding this am, and that is usually a pretty good sign that the freezes are over for the season

you can do just about any kind, just get a big pot (5 gallon) and put one plant in, I would go with a patio variety, or at least a "Bush" type. Remember to water well, every day as pots dry out quickly

Just planted mine....and using pots this year. One key is the dirt....best to use some bark to allow roots to grow easy and I would mix in miracle grow potting soil...not the garden soil. In pots, like one poster said, water daily.
