I'm at Charlie's at least once a week. It's great for what it is but should not be in the convo for best steakhouse in the city

Not enough love for Dickie Bs. Great traditional steak and solid sides. Their desserts are top notch as well

you eat at Charlie's steakhouse once a week?
that really is a bold strategy

I like it a lot but I couldn't imagine eating there so often

It's out of convenience more than anything .. I'm there & at Pascal's and Superior a ton. None of those places are great (besides the oyster bar at Pascal's) but they get the job done

Ate there about a month ago. I agree that the dessert was top notch. I got creme brulee, and the cheesecake looked fantastic, but the steak wasn't really all that good... I got the prime rib and wife got a filet. The prime rib was very forgettable and the filet was just okay. It was just really bland and a little overcooked. Maybe I just caught it on the wrong night or something.

To answer the OP, Mr. John's and Chophouse are the two best steaks I've had in the city thus far, but I haven't been to Doris Metropolitan, La Boca, and a couple of other ones that get mentioned often.
