Don't want high end stuff.
Don't want junk.

Suggestions? Links would be nice, too.

Go online to department stores like Dillards or Belk. Just got a new set of knives (high end, though).

There are cheaper calphalon sets also if $200 is too much. I saw one for $150 but you generally get what you pay for.

I don't like the glass lids (it's what I have now, not a fan).

If I were you, I'd buy 2 or 3 items that you use a lot in the All-Clad family.

Like this

They are something you will use for a long time and are a GREAT value

I think they got some of that calphalon stuff at TJ maxx. Why not try there first

If true you probably won't beat the price.

Get a decent stainless steel set of saucepans with heavy clad bottoms. Add a stainless 12-inch chef's pan and don't skimp on it; it will be the piece you use most. Round it out with some enamel-clad cast iron pieces like a skillet and a Dutch oven. Don't buy anything with a so-called non-stick coating. It will last you a lifetime.

Why not? Just curious. Function or style?

sometimes you can get good deals at TJ Maxx... but if you want a whole set you probably need to spend $200 and at least get stainless emerils. I love mine.
If not, buy a couple pieces you will use the most that are better quality like all clad. supplement that with a lodge 5-8qt dutch oven. If I were doing that id get the cast iron dutch oven and a 10" stainless skillet, 10" non stick skillet, a good size 10 qt pot for soups etc and i use my saute pan a lot.

Magnalite

If you buy them one piece at a time, you can buy the good stuff. My fav is all clad.

Buy a cheap skillet and a 10qt all clad, next time you get some cash get an all clad skillet, then a sauce pan, then a 12 qt...etc etc. That stuff is amazing.

cooked a lot on the ex's moms all clad and this is the truth. shite, all clad makes the emeril stainless sets and you can definitely tell a difference in quality.

all clad has a emeril line that doesn't have the fancy handles and rivets but the same cookware otherwise as the expensive stuff.

That second set looks like a really good deal.

I don't like to look of the glass, it seems harder to clean and doesn't hold the heat as well. Maybe I just have a bad set.

Spend a little more and get All Clad. It is made in USA. Don't get anything with Teflon (non stick) ends up in your food.

Go to Sam's and piece together your own skillets, and a couple pots. You'll probably come out cheaper with decent quality, provided you go to Sam's in the first place.

I can't speak for this site but found it and it seems legit.

They sell irregular All-Clad cookware.

TJ Maxx is your best bet if you don't mind a random assortment of brands on don't mind making more than one trip to see what's in stock.

Restaurant supply shops are also a good place to check out.
