Staying at theWit (next to the Chicago Theatre). There is a Smith and Wollensky about a block away. Any better recommendations close by?

I ate at Rosebud a few years back. It was great.

I have no idea of locations in Chicago, but I really enjoyed Gene and Georgetti. I'd go back.

I second Gene and Georgetti's. They also have an amazing egg plant parm. It was better than the steak which is saying something as I am a carnivore.

I don't recommend David Burke's Primehouse. If that helps...

Get ready for a "Chicago Style" burnt on the outside steak. To me this place is verly hyped. Very homestyle type cooking and somewhere you probably don't wanna send something back for being cooked wrong, you might get wacked.

I haven't been there in years, but back in the day Lawry's prime rib was always the recommendation.

This is the only steakhouse I've been to in Chicago, but it was fantastic.

I believe Grant Achatz's Next restaurant is doing the Chicago Steak House menu right now. If you can get tickets on the secondary market, I bet that would be an experience worth its weight in porterhouse.
