I haven´t tried it. People here are saying it tastes like a combination of cabbage and potato.
Is this correct?

i don't think it tastes like either one of those...it's a squash with a slightly sweet flavor.

Well, they tried one which was in little wáter, and had too much salt.
I´ve tried the newer ones. They are slightly starchy, and slightly sweet.
Time to get the rest of it going on, but I think the récipe I´m seeing with garlic, green pepper, celery is going to overpower this flavor.
Thanks all, for replying.

most recipes that i know of basically use it as a vessel, of sorts...in a similar way to a lot of eggplant recipes...my favorite is stuffed mirliton with a shrimp or seafood stuffing.
eta: i like to eat the seeds right out of them after boiling them.

Mirliton Casserole is one of my favorites. You can do it with any meat, have done it with shrimp, crab, crawfish and sausage.
