Meauxbar, the Rampart Street bistro with a fiercely loyal French Quarter clientele, will be reopened by restaurateur Robert LeBlanc the last week in May.

LeBlanc currently operates the Poydras Street restaurant Ste. Marie, which will close for good on Sunday, May 4, the second weekend of the New Orleans Jazz Fest. He plans to bring the entire Ste. Marie team, including executive chef Kristin Essig, bar manager Chris Arenas and general manager Natalie Secco, to Meauxbar.

Interesting. Really looking forward to hearing what is going into the Ste Marie space. Ate at Ste Marie a few weeks ago and thought it was good, not great, but could see the potential. Would definitely go to Meauxbar.

Yikes. The one time I went to Meauxbar I thought it was very good. The couple three times I've been to Ste Marie were pretty huge letdowns. One time in particular the food was basically (ETA:)inedible. Guess we'll see how the 2 space fare in their new ventures. Not going to get my hopes up for the reinvented Meauxbar.

Thank you, Wink, for the Meauxbar update. Been to MB twice and loved it. Always looking for good places, even though they change hands, to continue patronage.
