Has anyone been here? Just browsed the website, looks worthy of a shot. The other two restaurants that were in that space at Staybridge Suites failed miserably.

Went Saturday for lunch. Asked the waitress what she recommended, and she said the cheese logs appetizer and the chicken. I ordered both, along with the andouille sliders. When I asked her if the shrimp were N.O.-style bbq shrimp, she had no clue. She just said that they were cooked shrimp with bbq sauce on top. I declined. The sliders came out first. A link of andouille, split down the middle, served on a slider bun with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and bbq sauce. It was pretty good; tasted pretty much exactly what you'd expect it to taste like. The cheese logs came out next. They were huge, bigger than the ones at Sammy's. They were served with ranch, and when I requested marinara, I was told they didn't have any. I really didn't care for them... they were almost TOO big, and didn't pair well with the ranch. Next was the chicken, which was served with a cornbread muffin and a side (I chose sweet potato bread pudding.) The chicken was really disappointing; it was similar to Church's but it wasn't even as good. It was just meh. It actually reminded me of the chicken on the buffet at Golden Corral. The muffin was dry to the point of being inedible. Probably the best thing I had was the sweet potato bread pudding... not sure if it was supposed to be a dessert, but it was offered as a side. It was good, but didn't come with any sort of sauce or anything. Overall I was really disappointed with the place. My wife saw a guy eating the blackened fish and said it looked good, but I'd prefer to get my chicken and seafood someplace else instead of returning here. Seems like it may satisfy the unseasoned college crowd, but for more discriminating palates such as myself, it's a flop IMO.

FWIW, I didn't try the Poutine fries or the beer shakes (yes, various beers mixed with ice cream )

It's not Galatoire's or Commander's. it doesn't pretend to be. It's a good place to grab a bite before/after a game at the Box, and it's pretty good for what it is.

I just have high standards, no matter what they're serving. If they say that fried chicken is their specialty, and I'm paying 10 bucks for 3 pieces, then I expect it to be great. It wasn't. It was the equivalent of eating 3 pieces from Golden Corral.

I've eaten fried chicken all over the country, from Gus's to McHardy's, from Lorman Country Store to Willie Mae's. The fried chicken at Leroy's was nothing special. Like I said, it may please most people, but not me.
