So... I'm guessing you won't be buying me a gin fizz as we discuss Huey's atrocities at the bar, then?

I drink my gin fizzes where Huey drank his (Roosevelt's Sazerac), not at a faux retro theme joint.

I respect your style.

If you see a little lady drinking a gin fizz, I hope you think of me

I'm a little young lady. We can still hang, though. I live in BR and have actually never been to Sazerac.

Gah, I think more than a few people need to study LA history at something more than the 8th grade level. Long was a tyrant--I wouldn't go drinking in a bar named after him.

Way to TOTALLY miss the point

How about a little originality? It's safe to say I'm no fan of "theme" restos and bars.

BR sure knows how to name bars

Olive Or Twist
Schlitz and Giggles
Mud and Water
Boudreaux and Thibodeaux's

Who names these monstrosities?

Fairly certain the no smoking and cocktail/martini menu will attract women. Being across from city bar they will get some of those guys, but it was more middle-aged/young professionals.

I've been and it was surprisingly lame. They have no draft beer. I liked the exposed brick, but they go all downtown on you with a pool table smack dab in the middle of the room. The bar was in the back and could seat maybe 8. There was one very small tv above the bar. I think their target is the cocktail crowd, so they make a nice cocktail, have many "exotic ingredients", etc.
i was hoping for a cooler, radio bar style place with a bigger bar. I was disappointed. However, I chatted with the bartender for a while, and she was one of the hottest girls I have seen IRL in some time.
