I remember someone posting some growler shots recently with clear colorless glass. I could have swore it was Nola. Oh well, the memory aint what it used to be..

I remember watching the TV Series "Gunsmoke" back in the 1950's and watching Miss Kitty tell the few remaining customers "last call, boys" as she wistfully watched Marshall Dillon walk out the swinging doors while Sam the Barkeep filled Doc Adams a "Bucket of Beer" for the evening. Old Doc would then walk (amazingly well for a guy who had been throwing them back all night) back to the alley way and up the stairwell leading up to his Non-ADA compliant office, where he would carefully place the small galvanized bucket of suds on the examination table and lovingly stare at his late night alcoholic treat with slightly glazed eyes before hearing the echoes of a gunshot that introduced the plot element of that week's serial episode.

A few questions:

1 - Was Doc's bucket of beer the Growler of that time and place?

2 - How did Hoveround™ power scooter patients get up those thirteen steps into Doc's office for their monthly Ambien prescription?

3 - Would a Circle K have made a killing selling late night brewskies, microwaved HotPockets and SlimJims to the citizens of Dodge City, and why didn't that wonderful business opportunity occur to some entrepreneurial Iranian American?

4 - Why the heck did Matt go home each night to that cold, hard jailhouse cot when Miss. Kitty seemed so willing and eager to share her sleepnumber equipped bed with her Big Baboo hunk of western lawman?

Inquiring minds and all....

Pretty sure that was Coater.

I don't get why they would make clear growlers, either.

I had no idea you could add the little trademark thing. I thought this shite was just straight text.

I think Kim needs to start putting trademarks at the end of all his FBD anecdotes.

This is the price I was thinking, or thereabouts. Always struck me as high.

In Portland, there are a lot of breweries that don't bottle their stuff. Either you drink at their establishment, or take a growler to go. I have a policy of not driving drunk, so a limit myself to one pint if I'm driving. A growler is a good option...

I'm with you. I can't imagine why I'd ever buy a growler of anything I could get in bottles or cans.

Hmm. That's a good point.

I usually go to a Growler Store/Pub for mine where they are offering stuff I can't get otherwise. I hadn't thought of being at the brewery.

Yeah they were giving away clear abita growlers last spring and I collected quite a few. I don't get it either and only used them if I was filling them up with something I was going to drink immediately. I use most of the ones left for water

There are many local beers that I can only find in growlers. Mystery romp, gipsy ipa, etc. Several so pro beers were only in growlers until recently
