Can't believe no one mentioned Jack Sabins or Joey's.
Jack Sabin sold to Joe Distafano whose mother, Miss Fanny owned The Village and Joe opened Joey's which was his son who opened Little Villages with Wayne Stabiler and died about a year or two ago.
Miss Fanny's carbonnara was incredible and Jack Sabin's had the best steaks in town and the only place that dry aged his meat.
Little Italy on Florida and Allelo Drive was a great Italian place that closed for 2 months during the summer so he could go back to Italy.
I remember the chopped beef at Wesley's TreeDawg was incredible. Next door to the Broadmoor Theater. I used to get my hair cut at that barber shop next to it. Back in the day.
I remember Burger Chef as well. That place was killer.
What was the name of the joint at Highland and Airline where the Shell station is now? It stayed closed for years then was used in Everybody's All American movie before it was torn down. It had some scandal to it as well just can't remember.
Also what was Ruffino's originally? Sotiles maybe?
I remember when Mike Anderson's was in that old wooden building on Highland and I think Parker. He was much better then.
Carlino's Grocery on Tom Drive used to make the best po-boys in town.
Europe's across from Don's Seafood was pretty good.
Others mentioned above that were favorites include Bob and Jakes, Jake Staples The Place, Steak and Ale on North Sherwood, killer prime rib. The original Phils on Govt. It sucked after he moved.
Giamanco's has been closed and as a matter or fact the building has been knocked down for several years now as well. Loved that place.
Joe D's grocery had killer fried chicken and the best egg salad sandwiches for $.25 only on Friday.

Yep. They were from Sicily, by the way.
They made enough money, on that place that their kids were able to buy their own vineyard and retire to Tuscany.

Was one of their daughters named Gabriella? If so, you are saying she lives in Tuscany? Wow!

Maestro says there are no places to rent in Tuscany.

Giamanco's closed?
Damn, i used to be friends with the grandkids.
Didn't they get closed because of a busted prostitution ring being run out of the restaurant??
That place turned into Vincent's, which was great, but it is now a Monjuni's.

No, Giamanco's was on Government. The place you're thinking about was a very good Italian restaurant, though, can't remember the name.
