Don't think it's been mentioned, but there are plenty of new spots on Freret St. just off Napoleon. They all serve reasonably priced food.

Ancora- Great Pizza
Wayfarer- good new poboy shop
Co. burger- great burgers.

Just take a drive down Freret and you will quickly discover plenty of options.

Ugly Dog Saloon in the Warehouse District is pretty good cheap food.

You can also find some pretty good happy hour food specials at many bars.

Vietnamese, pop ups and food trucks are good sources of good, cheap food and so are happy hours. All of the Besh restaurants have great happy hours every day 3-6, even on weekends.

And other than the $2 tacos, there are other unique and delicious tacos for not a lot.

Boucherie is the best bang for your buck in town, and not far from you.

I used to agree with this, but don't anymore. When you used to be able to say that not a single entree on the menu was over $15, it was a great value. Now the entrees are $15-$20 (or might be $18)...but nonetheless, I now find the prices right on par for what you get.

This. There are multiple food truck rallies/fest every week.

The best type of food in terms of quality for dollar in New Orleans (excluding Boucherie), is, WITHOUT question:

Vietnamese. Tons of great vietnamese places at very good prices.

Magasin on Magazine St is cheap as heck for the quality. Any viet place on the WB is going to give you quality food at a good price.

Ba Chi Canteen on Maple, get a couple of "bacos" and some Pho. Hell yeah.

Maurepas Foods in the Bywater is, to me, a VERY good value for the excellent and innovative quality of food.

I disagree. They are too skimpy with the meats. Other Viet places are a much better value.

I haven't compared prices on muffalattas, but I can make 2-3 meals off the warm muffalatta from R&O's which was mentioned earlier.
