No real information other than the restaurant was taken over by the previous owners of Scoreboards and the pitmaster is no longer working there.

What a disaster for what was a very good BBQ joint. Hoping they relocate and open back up soon.

I went last week. I asked for a side of the brisket chili. They gave me hormel chili with bits of brisket sprinkled on top and the burger was salted to hell. I told my coworker they would be closed soon.

That location is a restaurant graveyard. It would be nice to find out where the pitmaster lands. His brisket was $$

No, our business was high jacked. Finn is NOT there. It is NOT the same. The owners of Scoreboards took it from us.

From what I’ve seen they didn’t do near enough business to justify that shite location in the first place.

Bernadette Fenerty was one of the owners if I’m not mistaken. I think Finn may be her son but I’m not sure.

It’s been awhile since I met with Bernadette but I though she introduced me to her son when I was there.

Scoreboards was terrible. Bayou Smokehouse was phenomenal.

To clarify - the owners of Scoreboards still own the building and forced "Bayou Smokehouse" out of the building, but is still planning on operating it as "Bayou Smokehouse"?

This is confusing.

This sounds like the biggest sleeze bag move ever. They essentially stole a successful restaurant and tried to pass it off as their own? This can't be legal.

That really sucks. Was a big fan of their brisket and their burgers. Their sides were great too (although tiny)

Anyone know if this is the same place that opened off Jefferson near bluebonnet about a year ago?

It is. They moved to Coursey earlier this year and from what I can tell have been doing very well.

When it first opened off Jefferson, it was absolute dog shite. Worse than Podnuhs. Maybe it got better but I never went back after I got what looked like pinto beans in ketchup for baked beans, frozen garlic bread toast, cold ribs, and chunks of bones in pulled pork. Not sure how that happens.

That said, if the supposed drama is true, that is shitty of the building owners to do.

Here is what I have found.

According to the Louisiana Secretary of State, the owner of the Scoreboards trade name is Alan Traylor. There is a woman named Debbie Traylor stating Bayou Smokehouse is "under new management" on Nextdoor and has been renamed Old School BBQ.

On the same Nextdoor post, a woman named Bernadette Fenerty is stating that her business was "hijacked" and the owners of Scoreboards "took it" from them. According to the Secretary of State, the Bayou Smokehouse trade name and LLC is owned by a Francis Fenerty.

Whatever is going on behind the scenes here seems incredibly sketchy and sleezy.

Hopefully the true Bayou Smokehouse crew lands on their feet somewhere, because their food was incredible.

That would explain so fricking much from the last time I was in there last week.

And it will be the last time I'm in there.

I know we refer to it as Bayou, but hasn’t it always been Old School since it moved to Coursey?

Who knows what the business arrangement was but it sounds like there was a piss poor contract or no contract.

My office ordered plates for everyone from Bayou Smokehouse today. Was very late, looked like cheap baked beans straight from a can, and we had a chipped tooth incident from the rock-hard pieces of Mac-n-cheese. Their sides have always been sub-par, but this was something else. No brisket made me sad.

Apparently so and I can't see that going well unless they brought in an experienced pit master, which I doubt.

From the research I've done, the owners of the building booted them because they claim "issue with customer satisfaction and not having enough food prepared."

From whatever the agreement is, and it sounds shady as hell, the building is keeping the name of the restaurant and will still operate as a BBQ place.

Cannot see this place lasting more than a month or two if this is all the case.
