Thomas and Julio.

Would be tempted to keep Powell at that price too.

I'm tempted to say Michael Thomas and Julio, but what kind of players could you expect to get with that first round pick? What does the availability look like in this league?

Julio is a top 3 pick. If You arent losing value by keeping him bubba. Thoughts

I would more so characterize Julio as a top 6 pick. Regardless I would still say that he is definitely one of the elite tier players, and you are probably not replacing him with a player of his caliber in a keeper league. But I think it is possible OP is able to replace Julio with one of the other elite tier players with his first pick depending on where he is picking in the first and who the other people in his league are keeping. If that is the case then he let's Julio go and keeps one of the other players. If it isn't the case or there is much uncertainty then you keep Julio. In my opinion.

I'm fine with keeping him

I also don't mind keeping Gurley and a Thomas and penciling them in as my RB2 and WR2. Then going out and getting even a better RB and WR

ETA - top 4 picks to load up WR/RB

i meant to say top 3 WR. Either way he is a lock to go in the 1st. no question. He's prob the top scoring WR last year if he doesnt miss 2 games

Man those keeper rules would really take the fun out of the draft

Why would you keep Julio at his current cost vs Thomas, Gurley, Powell, etc at a major discount?

There's a solid chance you get Julio in the first round anyway, or another player of his caliber. Keep the guys you know are too cheap.

Well that depends on his draft position but with 20-24good to great players off the board before the draft even starts, getting an elite player even at the top of the draft can be extremely difficult

In a normal draft, yes Julio is likely there in the mid to late first, but with these keeper rules, I would guess the Uber elite dudes like Odell, Bell, Johnson, etc are already being kept so if you let Julio go into the draft pool he's probably going as the top pick, and all it takes is one guy ahead of you that didn't keep a first round pick and you are out of Julio and out of a huge draft talent

Losing Julio may happen, and that's okay.

You are picking up so much equity by keeping Gurley in the 5th as a 2nd/3rd rounder and Thomas in the 11th as a 2nd rounder that you can take a slight downgrade from Julio with your first rounder.

It really just depends what everyone else is keeping and what slot you are picking. That first that you are gaining by giving up Julio could conceivably turn into a significant downgrade from Julio to someone like Golden Tate or DT88 or Carlos Hyde. Those are players who you are ranked around 30-36 which is what you could be looking at gaining by getting rid of Julio and keeping the first pick.

There's no way to really know either way what the right decision would be without knowing more details about how his league would play out, and it's probably unfeasible to explain that all here anyway. There's a lot of factors at play to try to guess what decisions this dudes league-mates might make in who they keep.

I was leaning Thomas and Eifert. But seems like Julio and Gurley may be options as well. We have to pick our keepers by next Friday. Not sure the draft order has been set yet, I will try to find out for sure.

This new info about Gurley playing a role in the passing game is pretty significant.

I considered Eifert but he is just too injury prone.

Michael Thomas and either Gurley or Powell. Julio is too expensive unless you pick last.
