I'm drafting 3rd tonight. 4 player keeper league, so here's some of the top available players in the draft.

Matt Kemp
Albert Pujols
Jose Reyes
Robinson Cano
Roy Halladay
Adrian Gonzalez
Evan Longoria
Cliff Lee
Justin Upton
Hanley Ramirez
David Wright
Alex Rodriguez
Brett Lawrie

These are the only 2 you should debate between.

But he's drafting 3rd. Meaning those two guys should go before he picks. If either of those two guys are there then they would be my pick.

Assuming Pujols and Kemp are gone, I'd go Upton then Cano.

I'd take Hanley, AGon, Cano, and Lawrie over Upton

I'd go

Pujols
Kemp
AGon
Hanley
Cano
Lawrie
Upton

Same as me but I'd flip Upton and Lawrie

I can't hate on that

Lawrie is going to have a better year this year than any Upton has had in his career IMO

Lawrie has had what, like 180 ABs in the bigs..you can't take that kind of risk with your first pick over some of the other guys that have done it for 2-3 years

I love Lawrie. I've tried to trade for him in every league but his market value is 10,000x his proven production so far.

I actually agree with this. I am planning on taking Hanley at 9 in my big money league tonight. I am fully on the bandwagon.

I would not take Lawrie, however. Just too unproven and Upton is a proven commodity.

Love the talent level of Lawrie and I read an article by Jayson Stark, I believe, the other day where every scout is drooling over this guys potential. Comparing him to George Brett.

He's just got it, Touls

If that's the only way to lock up a future stud, then you take it. If you take him and he still doesn't perform like you want, it won't kill your team

But if you pass on him and he becomes one of the fantasy studs, you'll be pissed

I only had him above Upton, whos numbers still don't warrant a #1 pick. He's another guy youd draft 1st in hopes he takes that next step. But I think he's maxed out

Leaning Cano or AGon since I had each of them the past 3 seasons & they were superb for me. Just wasn't allowed to keep either this year based on keeper rules.

Also had Upton the last 3 years & couldn't keep him again.

In order to get a good rec you should also post your 4 keeps. Shouldn't matter much, you should take best avail, but if you have votto maybe agon doesn't make sense.

I'm a fricking Moron and held Lawrie all last year waiting and waiting and when he hurt his wrist I dropped him, thinking I'd say on top and nab him later.

Then I was late to the party and lost him in both keeper leagues.

Miguel Cabrera
Matt Holliday
Carlos Santana
Josh Johnson

There's a utility position, so I'm not really limited on position based on my keepers.
