I've been at home sick today and watched moneyball for the first time....and the 2nd. One of my top 5 sports movies.

If you haven't read the book you should...movie was great but the book goes more into the metrics/stats...and most of the draft picks were busts.

I've read Tony LaRussa's "Man on a Mission". Pretty good. Goes into detail how he grew up with Lou Pinella.

I can't watch the office in front of them, much less a Tarantino film.

I embarrassed myself in the theater laughing so hard during the Klan arguing over the hoods

haha that was great. I like the little quirky comedic parts in the movie.

Probably the best scene...and I don't think the language (as far as kids) is even the greatest concern - the violence was, well Tarantino-esque.

The book is great. I love the chapter on Jeremy Brown.

I think the musical scores in the movie were mostly really good, especially in the montage where the A's are climbing up the standings. For some reason, Beane repeating, "it's a process it's a process it's a process" really resonated with me.

It is one of those movies I can put on halfway through and be hooked to the end even if I just saw it yesterday.

Was Brown the fat catcher from Bama? If so, I liked that chapter as well.

Havent read the book in awhile. Read it over 4 years on the crapper in college

Yeah, he was. The movie was nice enough to include the little scene of him hitting the homer and tripping at the end.

I shed some tears in the last scene when he was listening to his daughter's song. I know it was heavily romanticized but the movie was well done.

I cried when they were watching the film at the end of the guy who didn't know he hit the home run and Pitt says

How can anybody not be romantic about baseball?
