As if you needed any more of a reason to believe New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard was fully recovered from the lat injury he suffered last season, Thursday's Grapefruit against the Washington Nationals should be the icing on the cake. Thor threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings, and at one point struck out seven straight Nationals. That included shortstop Trea Turner, outfielder Bryce Harper, and third baseman Anthony Rendon consecutively on nine combined pitches. Syndergaard is looking better than ever, and looks to be one of the prime candidates for the National League Cy Young award in 2018.

I didn't have him or Price for the majority of last year.

Would you trade anyone for Thor straight up right now?

Correa may be the only one. He's a top 4 dynasty SP with the likes of Kershaw, Sale, and Scherzer.

That's why I was asking. I would consider Harper, Trout, and Correa, but none of them are pitchers so I could understand not doing any of those deals.

He just needs to stay healthy.

True story: I dont think ive ever owned a SP in any baseball league (and ive been in a frickton) that was top 3 in the league at the time. I have sure as shite traded away a few before they hit that point though.

I think im always afraid to pay for pitching.

See I can see that logic too. I'm not sure I would either. We value players differently when we've built our teams around them.

Gonzales fired four scoreless innings in Wednesday's 7-3 Cactus League loss to the Athletics, allowing two hits and two walks while recording a strikeout. Analysis:The 26-year-old southpaw has now racked up nine scoreless innings across a trio of starts to open spring training. Gonzales is averaging a strikeout per frame thus far as well, exhibiting much more confidence and efficiency than in last season's rocky 10-appearance (seven starts) stint with Seattle after being acquired in a July trade with the Cardinals. His experience this spring is also a marked departure from his activity level at this time last year, given he was still in the midst of working back from April 2016 Tommy John surgery at that point,Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. "Very different," Gonzales said. "I wasn't even in games. I was throwing bullpens, barely. I'm grateful to be able to take the mound and feel good afterward."

I’m so jealous of you for having that dude. Gutsy pick in inaugural draft that was just nailed.

Machado is part of the reason I don’t want to trade Tatis
