Bauers went 1-for-2 with a second-inning solo home run in Tuesday's 9-1 Grapefruit League loss to the Red Sox.
Analysis:Bauers opened some eyes last spring training with a shot that landed on the roof of the team's right-field offices, but Tuesday's blast reportedly one-upped it, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.
I read a couple years ago when he was still in low minors that he puts on monster power displays during BP. His nickname last spring when he lead the Rays in HRs, Runs, RBIs, & Walks was "Light Tower Bauers." Then you read scouting reports say his swing/approach is only good for 20 HR pop in MLB. There is room to grow beyond any projections that you currently read about, fellas. Current projections without a possible HR spike that he occasionally shows: 350/450 with 20+HR/15-20 SB potential? shite that is David Dahl projections right now with a higher OBP and more than likely dual eligibility as he is playing both 1B & OF this spring (and he has split OF & 1B the last two years in MILB too). And will be up this season. And he will only be 22 throughout the entire regular season this year. And he is on the block if it hasnt been mentioned....

Well since you brought it up. I listened to the game. Sounded like he got a little unlucky. Only two hard hit balls. A wind-aided HR off the end of the bat, a grounder that gets through the shift, a bunt single, a swinging bunt, a dying quail to center, and a two run error. He definitely needs to work on the mental side of his game. Easily rattled. The walks were the first of spring training for him.

I actually like the last two moves you made.
Young toolsy OF and fast SS propsects pop up a lot. They weren’t gonna contribute anytime soon.
Rodon and Glasnow have warts with huge upside and pedigree. Hopefully Rodon sheds his warts while contributing this year and you can wait on Glasnow to live up to his potential if it happens.
I don’t think I would have given Trammel for him but my OF is old.

Derek Lowe is working with him on refocusing on his sinker. He's gonna have a nice bounceback year.

Spring pitching stats are critical tell-tales of the season to come.
