Any of you guys use this strategy? In seriously thinking about it for my draft. 12 teams and I already have Calvin. Don't think any really worthy RB or WR msy be there at pick 11. May go with Gronk and Thomas

It certainly hamstrings another team in terms of TE, but I wouldn't want to waste a flex spot unless it was Graham + Gronk.

I assume you can start a TE in the flex?

Also, gives you some trade leverage post draft.

you'll be really behind the 8 ball at RB, but if Gronk were healthy it would be pretty formidable.

is it not a snake draft?

Yes it is. But I'm not an RB 1 kinda guy. I rather pick WR IN 1st and 2nd usually but after two straight trips to the ship I think ppl will be copying my draft strategy.

RB last yr were Miller, L Bell, Vereen and J Bell

so no RB or WR will be there 2 picks after Calvin Johnson is taken?

we're talking Round 2, pick 2?

No AJ Green? Dez? Eddie Lacy? DT88? Marshall?

No round one, pick 11. So 22 players will already be gone. I'm praying Dez is there!

Nope. We all have a keeper. So i pick 11 which is really like 23 bc 22 players will be off the board. Then I pick 14.

Trade leverage on what? You don't use your second pick as someone you can potentially trade. Guy tried this a couple years ago and no one would give him what he thought was fair value. He eventually picked up a third TE after a breakout week and was stuck with 3 good TEs and only 2 spots to play them.

Someone in my side league drafted Graham 4 overall and picked up Vernon in the 5th or 6th. Immediately following the draft traded Graham for Cobb and A brown.

That kinda leverage. But I agree I wouldn't take that aporoach

It's really not a bad strategy. I did it last year and had people begging me to trade one of them.

I had Gronk and Cameron last year which was nice! Would have been better if Hoyer never tore his ACL!

But were they offering 2nd round value? I'm not a fan of the strategy because you lose a lot of trade leverage. Teams know you only need and intend to keep one of them so they mostly look to take advantage of your surplus. An owner with 2 elite TE's who can only play one is like a Polo outlet with too much inventory. The price is gonna drop.

Im just looking at a roster of potentially Calvin, Gronk, and Thomas in a PPR would be really nice. Yea the RBs will suck but I could ride someone like Vereen and Gerhart and just need a WR2 which is easy to find.

But then again with some of the morons that are in our league, you never know how the draft will go!
