Its a 1 point PPR league.
Would you do this trade and if so which player would you trade Gore or Henry.

You mean Derrick Henry?

If you're trading Allen, I'd trade him for Gore.

Assuming you mean Derrick Henry.

He's a fringe flex starter against average and bad teams when Tennessee will be running the ball 60% of the time. Last week that wasn't the case, and he nor Murray were able to get any volume.

He is probably the top handcuff in the league though. If you're needing a guy to start, stick with Allen. If you need bench depth or a flier guy, Henry is worth it. If Murray wasn't playing this year Henry's ADP would've been in the 10-15 range at worst.

My bad and apologies I screwed that post up.
Ive been offered Buck Allen 4 Gore or Derrick Henry.

Looks like Allen is going to get alot of touches and catches replacing woodhead. I thought it was a no brainer to make the trade but thought id get a 2nd opinion in here. I just realized Gore finished 12th among RBs in ppr leagues last yr .Not sure he can repeat that this yr with that terrible team and QB. Seems they are going to be behind alot.

I'd probably sell him for Gore.

If you have good starters I would sit tight. Allen is still a fringe flex starter himself and not a guy I'd want to rely on every week. His situation will get murky mid season when woodhead returns.

Henry is a guy that should be stashed, because if something happens with Murray you have potentially a top 5 fantasy back

I agree, but Allen is also a guy due for a big uptick if Terrance West goes down, so both are fine stashes.

I think I still like Gore over Allen though. I guess this comes down to roster construction.

If you NEED someone to play, I'd trade him for Gore with the thought that Gore is a veteran guy who is always a consistent performer, and you can put him in your flex knowing that he'll at least be mildly productive.

If you're playing for upside, I'd sit tight. Allen looks to have some stand alone value already, and as the season progresses you never know what happens. He could be a flex play for you even with the backfield how it is now. If West goes down or Allen takes over for whatever reason, he's a weekly RB2.

Henry doesn't have much stand alone value. If Murray goes down, he's immediately in the RB1 conversation, but if that doesn't happen you can't play him.

I don't think so, the volume would be there to make him a RB2, but talent wise he's not all that good.

and yes in a PPR, I'd give up Gore for Buck Allen.

Hard disagree. Talent wise, Derrick Henry is a beast.

college sure but the guy can't create at all, he's a strict north-south runner.

Folks vastly underrate Murray's skill level, that's not a plug and play.

He's 250 and managed this. 4.5 forty, ridiculous athlete...what have you seen to determine he's not all that good talent wise? We all have opinions, just wondering how you formed that one. You're citing his inability to create but that's exactly what the elusive metric measures, what a guy gets on his own independent of his blockers

not saying he sucks...he's just no where near a top 5 back even if given the workload.

and that elusive metric can be pretty deceiving, look at some of the backs it often ranks highly on there.

I formed my opinion by watching him some last year and this preseason. He takes what's given to him. Its JMO, you Bama folk sure get upset when someone questions your guys.

My post clearly indicated I was upset

CJ Spiller, Trent Richardson, and Stevan Ridley finished as top 10 backs in 2012 for the record. Legarrette Blount finished 7th last year. I'd say Henry probably has more talent than all of them, volume counts

There's nothing deceiving about the elusive rating- it's a pretty cut and dry metric, just doesn't always show what you'd expect from preconceived notions. It doesn't have anything to do with how good a guy is as a back, but it does tell you how good he is at avoiding tackles in the open field, one way or another
