If mahommes does 75% of what he did last year a 1st round pick is good.

Yeah don’t know why anyone is talking shite about the pick. Gets at least 40 pts a week and usually much more.

Especially with 6 pt passing TDs

I’ve already told people in the MTV league if they want him they better not wait because I’ll do it again.

There’s no substitute for owning a player like that

Well the issue isn’t whether Mahommes is good. He could have another great season

The issue is if he ends up as the QB2 instead of the QB1 in the final rankings and you look back and you passed up elite WRs and RBs to pick a guy whose production who was outpaced by a guy picked in the 4-7th round.

But by all means Voodoo, please feel free to do the same in MTV league

Which team are you in MTV?

Look, no offense, but you aren’t providing any new information or insight.

I’m fully aware of the risks of passing on skill guys in Round 1 for QBs where the pool is much deeper.

That said, there are exceptions to every rule, and in a 6 pt TD league for QBs, Mahomes scored ONE HUNDRED POINTS more than the #2 QB last year. No other position leader was even half of that.

Is he guaranteed to do the same thing? Of course not. But even with massive regression he has a very good chance to be the comfortable QB1.

And everything you said can be said just as easily for WRs, where there is also plenty of quality depth in the middle rounds where other teams are fighting to get QBs.

I’m rarely a WR early guy, the position is too deep, and ended up extremely happy with my WRs (starters at least). I’m more concerned about my RBs. But once the top 4 went I simply don’t like the value of those second tier RBs over a potential league winner in PM. There are just too many questions with all of those guys.

Anyone talking about the benefits of waiting on a QB have simply never owned a guy like Brady in 07 or Peyton in 13 (I did). Once you’ve have some smack like that it’s hard to go back

I get that it’s fun to make jokes about the guy that takes the QB in Round 1, and made that pick welcoming any and all noise that would come with it.

But please don’t seriously try to bring in some outline on why the strategy isn’t sound. We’ve all read the same mags for the past decade and maybe you’ve even listened to a podcast or two that has REALLY convinced you

Any strategy can win and any strategy can fail. It all depends on how you build your team from top to bottom, not one pick.

But I know it’ll be fun to sit back and watch KCs offense perform every week knowing he’s in my lineup
