To you dummies who want to do away with the EC
Do you realize that you are seeking to remove 49% of Americans from having representation in the federal government?

Do you really want to take federal representation from residents of ~35 states?

This attempt by progressive democrats to force their will onto conservatives would do massive harm to our country. Much worse consequences than OMB sending a mean tweet. It would seriously lead to balkanization or worse.

The last time Patriots had ‘taxation without representation’ didn’t go so well for the establishment.

While I completely agree with you, I don't lose any sleep over it. No way that 38 state legislatures vote to diminish their own power in the EC. Any Constitutional amendment to abolish it would be DOA.

If biden is inaugurated, and mass fraud proven, we are already there. By stealing and cancelling our votes, we have been silenced.

How would getting rid of the electoral college remove representation in the federal government exactly? Everybody would still get a chance to vote for President and 2 Senators and a congressman, no? Everybody's vote would count the same. Right now, some votes are worth much, much, much more than others.

Anyhow, you are making your argument wrong. The argument you want to make is that states are a thing on purpose and embedded in our country's DNA is respect for the concept of a state. A national popular vote election would eliminate states as an important factor in Presidential elections and thus make America a little less America.

What has USSC had to say about the states that are trying to make pacts to give their votes to the popular vote winner?

No one is guaranteed “representation.”. Neither Libertarians nor Greens nor the Constitution Party has managed to elect either a Rep or a Senator.

If your party promotes good, popular ideas, you will get “representation.”. Otherwise, you just get a vote.

With that being said, the EC is a good system. Eli is just making a stupid argument in support of it.

It’ll be much higher than 49%. We would be electing a president with 20-25% of the popular vote.

Zero fraud has been proven in court. This is a lie that keeps being repeated so much some of you believe it is true.

I don't think they are asking to remove Congress.

That doesn't mean there couldn't be better systems. Ranked-choice voting could allow for the development of more parties, while at the same time forcing candidates to campaign for more voters to include those candidates as 2nd or 3rd choices. As it stands right now, 12 states received 96% of the general election campaign events from August 28th to Election Day. You could allow for better representation in a national ranked-choice system, which is something the country needs, as the demographics of the country is diffuse to the degree that traditional notions of the electorate are falling by the wayside. The prime example of this is counties in Texas along the border that went for Trump.

Maybe not do away but revise. Every state gets one vote. You win the state you get that vote. The multiple vote shite is another way to lose 2/3 of the country and still win an election because you got Texas and California.....one vote per state is my solution
