Not sure about y'all but having been in the AL for 8 years now, I still haven't "bonded" with our divisional teams. The Rangers, ok they're regional our fans are intermingled, that one makes some sense. Oakland we've formed a bit of a rivalry with, mutual dislike, we've bounced them from the playoffs but meh. And the Mariners and Angels..to me they're just there.

I don't feel the rivalries either but I have grown fond of the American League. I think the main rivalries that are good for MLB business (like NYY-BOS, CHI-STL, SF-LA) will easily be kept together post-expansion so new divisions will work fine. I won't miss the current West division we'll surely leave, just greatly prefer we stay in the AL.

I miss the central time away games but I, too, would prefer Yed hitting bombs

Agreed. There's nothing special about playing any of these teams, even the A's and Rangers. The next Astros-Mariners game that will be important for both teams will be the first. I'd rather play the Reds and Braves and Dodgers 19 times a year. I liked being in the NL with the pitcher batting, though that won't matter after this season once the DH becomes universal. And I also liked playing familiar opponents, some of whom I still loathe (Dodgers, Mets, Reds, Cardinals, Cubs come to mind). With all due respect to George Springer, Blue Jays-Astros seems as random as an opponent a basketball team draws in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The AL has mostly been good for the win-loss bottom line, though I think the Astros probably would have been just as successful in the NL with the way Luhnow amassed the talent on this team. But Rangers-Astros is not a rivalry to me and never will be. The Rangers are the little brother too dumb to get out of the weather. I can't respect or take seriously a franchise that didn't put a roof on its stadium until the second time they built one in Texas. The Astros had that figured out more than 50 years ago.
