Do you lose accuracy due to taking this apart and reconnecting it between uses?

Bumping this old thread. Are most of the 10/22's all the same internally? I noticed they make a few different variations at different prices. Was going to buy one at a local shop and got back and realized it had a super tiny barrel and must have been a youth model. Feel like everyone needs one of these and they don't require much research as I have used them a good bit, but tired of the bolt action .22 and wanted to spice it up.

Ruger calls those the "Express" model, not necessarily for youths.

Gotcha. I didn't notice the first day and went back the next and the wood stock one was gone and the synthetic was there but I realized that the barrel was super short, not sure if I wanted that. But I'm glad I went bc I found a practically brand new Camo A5. I guess a shorter barrel isn't necessarily a bad thing for plinking and squirrels.

the 10/22 I was looking at had a plastic magazine. All plastic decays rendering the gun useless after the right number of years.

Oh I have always shot them with the larger mags, that are plastic. Like the aftermarket 20 round or however many. Are you talking about the magazine port mechanism?

Maybe if you leave it out in the sun for 20 years. 10/22 clips will outlive most people if treated even remotely close to decent

Yeah in my lifetime they've always been that unpolished wood or synthetic as far as I can remember (at least the ones I shot). I just wasn't sure if I wanted the short barrel one. Seems about the same price as the longer barrel one.

They sell 10/22 magazines every day. I will most likely be dead before my 10/22s quit working, so I am not going to worry about it. And if a magazine breaks I will trash it and grab another one.
