No one was beating a young Tyson. Wasn't Etienne the "Black Rhino"?

This wasn't against "young " Tyson. He was 36.

This was Mike's last win.

Tyson got the face tattoo a few days before the fight...lots thought it would not happen....then others said it was just sign etienne was gonna a take a dive if Tyson didn’t care about having a tattoo needle all in his face right before

I remember when skinny midget Richard Condon would suck off the black rhino all day every day for a good year. Saying he just needed to get a big time Don King type manager to become the champion.

And the cop shooting thing was at a check cashing joint on govt if memory serves.

Also he totally laid down in this fight. Deserves so much respect.

Right, the short demolition of Etienne led me to this.

I was at the fight-in Memphis . The guy in front of me was late getting to his seat and missed the whole thing.

Memphis used to be a great fight town for some reason. Not sure why that stopped.

The black Rino right? I watched the thing with Dan Patrick & Freddie Roach the other day and they mentioned this fight.

Dude makes paintings now. There are a few good articles about him.

Seems to have found some peace in prison and trying to live a better life. Shame some don’t turn their lives around sooner.

I went to Southern University with the Rhino. He was a student at SU when he was fighting professionally. He had a lot of women back then. And, I remember when he had a house in Tara subdivision right off Goodwood.

bullshite

That dog will never lose his spots

True story. Was a teammate of my brother in high school. Stole some property from him out of his locker one day during practices in August, just prior to the start of the season.

My brother saw him with it the next day and asked him about it. He played dumb, even though my brother’s initials were on it. My brother went to the head coach and told him about it. Head coach called Etienne into the office and confronted him and dismissed him from the team.

A week later the head coach gets a call from a neighboring head coach saying he has a kid that wants to play for him at St Martinville. Wants to know why he was kicked off the team. The head coach tells him he stole from a teammate and refused to give back his property. Went on to tell him that Etienne was a low character kid.

Etienne started for St Martinville in their first game, which just so happened to be against his former team. He knocked my brother, the starting QB, out of the game on a late hit. St Martinville eventually won the game, and HOF head coach Carroll Delahoussaye lost my respect that night.

My brother went on to play college ball, while Etienne went on to commit manslaughter, serve time, become famous and infamous, and now sits right where he belongs.

It bothers me mostly b/c Delahoussaye was one hell of a coach, and he had an opportunity to make a difference in that kid’s life in that moment, yet chose to further his belief that he was above reprimand.

I once saw Etienne walking in the Mall of Louisiana with his championship belt over his shoulder. Also, I remember watching the fight vs Tyson and was disappointed that he went down so easy.

Were the stories of him having football offers from LSU and Nebraska true?
