Vacuum sealed 6 years

I found some quail in the freezer that I have had for about 6 years. I see no noticeable freezer burn or ice crystals in the bag.
Do you think they are still good?

Defrost them and see what it looks like but I can't imagine its not freezer burnt.

Is that a vote for still being okay, or probably bad?

Fine to eat, if no freezer burn.

If a quail kills you, it was time.

Since i got a good vacuum sealer 10-12 years ago I don’t put dates on things

If the bag is still sealed, I would bet they are just fine.

They are boneless, so I have that going for me!

How are you going to cook it? Stuff like that I usually just make poppers with. Cut off anything freezer burned and throw a pepper and some bacon on it and you’d certainly never know.

I was thinking over charcoal with mesquite added, and also have water pan. Sorta half smoked half grilled. Maybe have them over the coals for browning then move them indirect for flavor.
