Not to mention the 4 asshats at the end of the show that literally just shat on the pelicans and NOLA for 15+ minutes

ESPN thinks they have the next SJW bitch Lebron.

Zion is not that person. He's a good kid from Upstate SC.

And he will be the reluctant king of NOLA.

frick ESPN. Pure dogshit.

The whole time Zion and RJ Barrett were up there was horrible. I was mostly surprised by Bilas. I thought he was better than that.

It is very very likely, but not guaranteed.

You dropped this.

What he said is 100% right. It is not a 100% certainty that Zion goes first. And in the context of what he's talking about, it makes sense there.

ESPN gave up being even remotely professional or dignified a long, long time ago.

Mike Breen is the only thing good about any of ESPN’s NBA coverage.

Their pre-game, halftime, post-game crew (Beadle, Pierce, Rose, and whoever else) is pretty bad.

I was going to say "plus they fricked up when the graphic revealed the Pelicans had a top 4 pick before the #8 envelope was opened"

but then I realized that mathematically you should've already been able to tell the Pelicans had a top 4 pick even before the #8 envelope was picked up off the pile

with the Lakers and Grizzlies having already been revealed to have won a top 4 pick... that meant the Pelicans should've slipped back to #10 in the draft order... unless they also won a top 4

so when both 10 & 9 both went by without the Pelicans coming up, that meant the Pelicans had won one of the lottery spots

Outside of a plane crash, he will be #1

Would be pretty disingenuous for ESPN to act like anyone else but Zion might go first.

I thought it was pretty unprofessional but funny. That’s par for the course now with ESPN though. Felt bad for RJ. Completely uncalled for and disrespectful. The would you draft Ja or RJ was bushleague.

What’s even more amazing Nichols will bump Beadle because they think she’s a star. Awful.
BTW.... I’m nota Beadle fan either.

I don’t think the main issue is declaring Zion the consensus #1. It is more of a product of how ESPN acted like no one else existed other than Zion.

No one would have had an issue if ESPN referred to Zion as the #1 pick but also mentioned other guys. There were multiple prospects in attendance. So given the fact that all they talked about is Zion, I think the point stands at how incredibly unprofessional and ridiculous it was that they gave Zion that kind of treatment when he hasn’t even been picked first yet.

That was brutally bad, and hard to watch. The only mention of other players was done in a negative light. As in telling RJ he used to be the #1 guy. Or asking Zion who is better between RJ and Ja. Just awful. All those prospects were basically invited to see ESPN trash them for not being Zion.

NHL did that too, started noticing around the time Connor McDavid was drafted/Edmonton got the top pick in lottery. Very awkward interview. This year interviewed projected #1 and maybe #2 pick as well.
