Outlook gurus! Can I set it to schedule emails with attachments?

Here is my scenario:
* every night at 12:30am a process runs on a VM that generates a log file
* process rarely takes over 30 minutes and the logfile name is the same (overwritten). let's say c:/logs/dailyupdate.txt
can i set up outlook via rules to simply send an email to a group of people at say, 2am every night that also picks up the updated file?
i haven't messed around with the rules yet so this may be easier than i'm making it but was curious if someone else had done anything like this before. the outlook 2016 app stays open on that machine and i'm the only one with access.
any security risks? Thanks!

would probably be easier to use the windows task scheduler to send emails if the file name is always the same. Something like this windows task scheduler

Using Outlook for this feels clunky and overkill. I've done this exact thing on Linux with a simple shell script and a cron job. My filenames were different every day (datetime was the end of the filename), but the script just picked the most recent. Maybe look into PowerShell?

On Mac, something like Automator would likely be the solution. Sounds like from the above that Windows has similar scheduler tool these days. Wouldn't try to set it up in Outlook personally.

Do you have Office 365? Take a look at Microsoft Flow.
