The number one cause of traffic is people not leaving room for other to merge. God forbid someone gets in front of them.

on 10/3/22 at 8:41 pm to armsdealerThe law is very clear and unambiguous on interstates: the vehicle entering the highway or interstate is to yield to vehicles on the interstate. That is the logical procedure. The road with consistent and constant flow doesn’t yield to the lesser flowing on-ramps; otherwise, it wouldn’t be an interstate.

I hit the onramp at 25-30 and make sure I'm doing at least 75 by the end.
Shedding speed is easy, gaining... not so much.

ETA: From my time in East TX, you don't so much plan or yield as much as you just yank the wheel and pray. That's the only option when you have twelve feet of on ramp.

Naturally, the line slowed down as soon as he slid in front of me, so we both had to hit the brakes pretty hard.
