Northshore: Pat Gallagher's Restaurants

Been to all of them; consistently unimpressed. Average food, poorly plated and poorly served. The only thing consistent was poor service, particular from the front of house staff.

What am I missing because all the old school northshore types seem to love his places.

I was not overly impressed by Gallaghers on Tyler St., Good gut not great.
I really enjoyed Pat's Stay a While. Great place to go with friends on a sunny fall or spring day. The outdoor patio way too hot for the summer.

Gallagher’s on Tyler is the best and original. I’m looking forward to Dakota opening up in downtown Covington.

Nope the original was Winner’s Circle where Dakota’s used to be, and the original original was located off Hwy 25 towards Folsom.

I’ve always had a good experience at 527. Never been to the Covington locations

We go to Rest A While pretty often. I love the hangar steak. Like the location and the atmosphere.

i could not disagree more...if it was once Id say maybe they were hbing a bad night, but it sounds as if theyre just not youre thing

because ive NEVER gad a bad meal and only had bad servoce at pats on the lake when it was first getting up ans runing.

not saying what youre saying is untrue, just that it will never be what you expect if it hasnt happnd at that fantastic restaurant(s)

Ive had good times and good food at Covington and 527.

Went to Rest a while for lunch one day and it was ok. We'll have to give it another shot for dinner one time.

I just wish the steakhouse in hammond was closer to my house. I think Id go broke.

Went to 527 for our anniversary. App was the best thing we ate (it was outstanding at least), and left with an almost $300 bill Rest of the food was not bad but not worth the price at all.

Rest A While is a great location, but just a mess of too many concepts.

As for the other two, places like Keith Youngs, Cafe Lynn, Pardo's, and even Bistro Bryonz are much better, much more pleasant, and generally a better value.

It's solid food. Probably why people like it. I go fairly often for lunch meetings and always order something different. Always good never let down once.

It's not cutting edge cuisine and if that's your gripe then you were barking up the wrong tree
