One that always makes no sense to me.

In the classic “I’M THE KING OF THE WORLD!!!!’ Scene from Titanic….

So the shot is a technical marvel, revolutionary in CGI and reportedly costs like 1 million dollars. It’s foreshadowing an even more famous scene later on that is supposed to be like the pinnacle of romance.

So why in the HELL did James Cameron decide….”hey throw in his buddy between him in the rail and have him thrust his pelvis into the back of his butt”..

It’s just so bizarre and unnecessary….

Llewelyn Moss’ death off camera in No County For Old Men. Felt like I needed to see the shootout/ambush since I was so invested in the character. Still, fantastic movie.

Yeah and him checking his boots after letting you know exactly what happened was a priceless moment.

Am I mixing up scenes completely actually?

This isn’t EXACTLY what im asking. This is a scene you wish existed. Not a scene with an odd choice.

Another example would be in the “all work and no play, makes jack a dull boy” scene, the fact that they filmed Jacks appearance from his perspective and not in the background makes the scene way less scary than it could have been.

Classic scene. Weird choice.

This was 100% intentional by the director. He’s communicating to the audience that Llewelyn is not the main protagonist of the film. Ed Tom is the “hero” that realizes that he can no longer defeat a villain such as Chigurh. Hence the title of the movie/book.
