I join droppings after being a loyal user of another site for years but some of the mods got too much for me. So I come here asking, how do You think us fans being so negative will effect recruiting. We have all right to be negative, but what recruit what’s to commit to the great school that’s LSU with a fan base that currently hates the team.

I’d say in the past it may matter a bit, but in today’s NIL world, it’s all about the money. Whoever has the most to promise in NIL deals is gonna destroy recruiting

I can see that but nil depend on fans too. It’s our job to buy what the players promote to make them money and right now I don’t think any of us would buy a damn thing Stingley put out.

The majority of these deals are sponsorship based. It’s all dependent on businesses

It definitely matters a lot. All the major schools can offer mostly the same things (NIL deals, facilities, development). Recruiting is as much of a sale of why not to go somewhere as it is of why to go somewhere. We have lost out on plenty of players due to negative recruiting that would be very helpful right now. Our fanbase is currently providing a lot of ammunition for future negative recruiting.

It is huge. LSU has the gift and the curse of TD. It is a great place to keep up with everything and discuss anything ou want but posters on here do not take it seriously that their criticisms of players and their families turns recruits away or a least tilts them.

Najee Harris summed this up great on the PMS. He basically said Saban gave him the heads up on the fans saying 'fu'king run Najee. Your black a$$ needs to run harder! Do better gah dammit.' along with the ridiculous amount of hate messages on twitter, instigram, etc. He gave full credit to Saban for opening his eyes at the main goal and that was to win championships and set himself up to be the best player he could be. Fans say whatever they want but the truth is nothing we say means shite to anything. A player in todays came goes where he wants to go or chases the biggest amount of guaranteed money. A&M is about to pull the best class in their schools history using the NIL as a cover. Say whatever you want, it doesnt matter.

Yeah, I tend to agree but this place has been negative as long as I can remember and we still recruit well. If we can get a few more wins and the team keeps improving I think some of this negativity will subside not entirely of course as this is td after all.

Who hates the team? You are not a true fan if you hate the team.
