Considering a week there in 2022. Is the end of April too early to go?

Juneau is great at that time of year.

Definitely early February

On a serious note, I went in mid August 5 years ago. Weather was great, actually got a few days of full sunshine. Temps in the 50s. We followed the highway from Anchorage to Fairbanks and back.

Late April is fine.

Small cruise ships come here (Juneau) starting mid April. You can still get some cold, maybe snow at elevation but weather is generally good. Most tour operators and lodges are not open though.

Mid May to Mid August is generally considered the best time to visit. If you're into the Aurora, consider the Fairbanks area in winter. Chena Hot Springs Resort in particular.

Good time to come.

Fireweed is blooming and salmon are running. Fireweed fields are gorgeous.
