While acquiring AD got the Lakers another title. AD is horrible pairing for an aging Lebron imo. I would think an aging Lebron would be a better suited for playing a stretch 4 role which is what AD plays.

You are never going to get a Superstar back for Lillard though, unless you consider Simmons a Superstar. The trade would solve a lot of their issues (no forward depth).

That’s fair but we’re talking the different between Rui and Ben Simmons here. Simmons may not be a star but he’s much better than Rui. Sure that trade would fix our forward depth (Kuzma as a 3 is BBQ chicken defensively so does that really fix anything and Kispert doesn’t project to be much of a defender) but we’d be losing out on star talent, which ultimately wins games.

quote:

McCollum/Simons
Powell/McLemore
Kuzma/Kispert
Hachimura/Nance
Nurkic/Love

Not a bad team. I think the Blazers are projected 6-7 seed. That team could possibly still do that.

Love doesn’t even want to play basketball anymore. He’s collecting a paycheck. He’s love to come to Portland… with Dame and co. He’s not going to suddenly want to rebound and bang inside on a 25 win team. This team is a worse version of the 2017 blazers. Trap CJ, cover Powell, dare Kuz and Nance to shoot the ball. Hard pass.

quote:

Blazers receive Kuzma, Harrell, Bryant, Hachimura, Kispert and picks.

This would make more sense for McCollum. Take off Rui, and one of the bigs and throw in a pick swap and it’s an enticing deal.

Kispert, Kuz, Bryant, pick swap for CJ is almost something I could stomach but again I’m not a Kuzma fan.

Dame going to DC would have to include 10 years worth of picks and more. They simply don’t have the assets to compete with for him.

Rockets sources confirm that the franchise will work with John Wall to try to find a trade destination for him. Easier said than done with $91.7M over two seasons due to him. Wall doesn't have fit in Houston with Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green as backcourt of present/future.

Rockets sources emphasized that Wall has been "a rock" for franchise over tumultuous last year. He's expected to participate in camp and remain around team but not play in games. Hope is his wisdom/leadership can still help Porter, Green and other young players.

How very interesting that some teams can do that and others can't.

Also, who the frick would trade for Wall without getting at least 2 1st Round Picks in return?

MAYBE Cleveland so they can dump Love but they sure as shite don't need another Guard.

I know he never plays and we should never pay him that but a healthy Wall on this team would be interesting.

I hinted at it before, but i'd be down for trading for him.
I think it's a high reward type move, without too much risk. We'd get assets back in the deal, and it's just two years. You could buy him out next year if it's that bad. I know he's not a 3 point shooter, but he's still athletic as frick and can get to the goal on anyone. He'd easily average 10+ assists here. Could easily see him leading the league in assists.

this trade would have been a lot easier to do in the offseason when we had cap space to take on salary. now it's pretty much impossible for us.

John Wall's 4-year, $171M max extension started with the 2019-20 season.

His games played:
19-20 - 0 of 72
20-21 - 40 of 72

He's unlikely to play the 21-22 season without a trade. That would mean he'll have played in 40 games out of 226. That's 17.7% of possible games played.

What players are you giving up to get him?

The only way to make it work would be Hart/Sato/Graham/minimum salary or more

We have to send out at least $34.5M to make it work, and we simply don't have the salaries to do that b/c we aren't trading BI/Zion/Val, and we can't trade Graham until November, and i doubt they would even want Graham or any PG for that matter (NAW/Kira).

Like i said, this would have been much easier to do in the offseason acting like a team with cap space and making an uneven trade for him.

Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon has agreed to an additional two-year, $45 million extension -- guaranteeing him $89.3 million over the next four years, his agent Austin Brown of CAA Sports told ESPN on Monday.

Brogdon's extension begins with the 2023-2024 season and raises his annual salary to $22.5 million in those two new contractual seasons.

brogdan now under contract for 4 years.

One tweet I saw said he now can't be traded for 1 year, or something to that effect.
