Sounds like they're going for a full 16, who else do they go for?

While a possibility, I don't think Big XII further expanding will happen soon. Could be a future move if necessary.

once proud conference that at least pretended to care about academics. After all these ads even the SEC will look like the Ivy League

I'm surprised they didn't just go for 6 originally last week. I mean, OU and Texas will be playing in the SEC next year.

Boise State makes sense. Memphis, not sure about that. They're surrounded by Ole Miss, Tennessee and Arkansas. They don't gain much from having them in the conference

They just need teams at this point that aren't a complete joke.

Those two would wrap up the good football teams left. Everything else should be trying to maximize the coverage blanket.

Tulane

Good call.

New Orleans as a travel destination, top 40 academics, and a pipeline into Louisiana for recruiting.

Tulane just needs better fan support. If they’d admit more in state kids and get a larger LA alumni base going they’d be successful. Everything else is pretty much in place for that to be a solid program

Houston sadly has double the endowment as LSU despite being like 100 years younger

I feel like Boise makes sense from the standpoint that they have been a quality program for years. However, if TV market is as big of a driver of expansion as I think it is, I think one of the Colorado schools, Colorado State or Air Force, makes more sense. Nevertheless, I like good small programs being rewarded for being consistently good.
