How long will meat stay frozen in a freezer assuming it’s not being opens and closed constantly?

I’ll light the pit. You bring the beer.

This a complicated problem requiring an in-depth knowledge of physics, organic chemistry, and biology.

The rate of unfreeze is going to depend on the animal, how good your freezer is, the stratus of the meat and the other things that are in your freezer. Without more info it's sending a fax to someone in Ohio to check on all the 47 different greens you left on the counter and find out which turned brown first.

FDA says 48 hours of freezer is full. Less time if not full.

Seriously tho, generally seafood thaws first, fattier cuts next, protein dense cuts last. A deer hindquarter will keep for a week maybe longer

After hurricane Rita, I came home 5 days later. The stuff in the fairly full chest freezer was still partly frozen. I ate stuff from the freezer for several days while doing cleanup work.

I keep 20 to 30 lbs of block ice in the freezer all the time. And after Rita, I got a couple of 10 lbs bags of ice to help keep stuff cold..

When I went back to Lafayette, I took 2 ice chest full of food with me.

couple of days, but it can't be opened at all...not even once after power goes out.

3 days easy if you don’t open.

If it’s a chest freezer, don’t open and cover it with a few blankets. That may buy you 4-5 days.

Meat is fine so long as it doesn’t completely thaw. Icy is fine.
Just remember to not let it sit around when you eventually thaw to eat. Cook immediately when thawed.
