What dashcam camera does the OT recommend?

The insurance thread got me wondering if alot of people here use these and what brand? It seems to be more of a necessity at this point and I'd like to get a quality affordable one

After the second person hit one of my vehicles I installed one for the front and back. It’s worth it for sure.

ETA: lol I read this as ‘doorbell’ cam… 
We use the nest set up. But not the actual doorbell camera. Just the motion sensor cameras at the front and back doors. Mud room, living room, upstairs hallway

My wife has one by apeman with the odb2 adapter.

I've got the Viofo A119 V3. It's got a pretty awesome picture in day and night. It's also Reddit recommended.

I’m surprised that the people who use these to film cops during traffic stops don’t get a citation for driving with an obstructed windshield if the camera is attached to the windshield.

If you happen to have an Escort radar detector, the Escort M1 is a great match. It mounts on the side of the detector with the same power source; 1080P, WiFi connect to their free app & continuous loop. Not bad for $ 199.
