So I’m taking a couple labs this summer. Have 6 people in my group. 2 already out because they “came into contact with somebody that has Covid”. 1 of them I think is legit, other I’m skeptical.
But it got me to thinking. These kids gonna game the frick out the system. “Oh I was around somebody that had it, going get tested, gonna take a few days for results. See y’all in a week.”
Then LSU is gonna report this huuuuge epidemic on campus while playing football games in front of 100,000 people.

It’s all just so absurd.

Why are people testing, protocols if there is a working vaccine?

The only people that should be tested is people seeking medical attention, generally speaking?

Does the vaccine not work?

I hear our defense is supposed to be pretty good. Much better than last season. I think we will be OK.

For someone so confident in their decision, you sure do run to every thread a lot saying the same thing: What’s your angle? You feel like you are saving the world from the vaccine or something?

Not to worry. New LSU President Tate will convene a committee which will probably hire an outside firm to study this problem and come up with a strong solution of regulations and enforcement. Don't worry, your tuition shouldn't go up that much.

If I want a day off of work, I just say I think I may have come into contact with someone with covid. Nobody asks questions.

LSU football is 90% vaccinated. After the parents drop off their kids there will be a huge vaccine drive. I am guessing the school will be vaccinated above 90% by the end of the semester.

I had a chance to meet and hear the new president speak. He acknowledged he is getting a lot of pressure from faculty to implement vaccine mandate for fall. Also, lots of pressure from parents & students not to. He said he had a “moral issue” with mandating an emergency approved vaccine and would not do so. However if it gets full approval he was ok. He did say LA law makes it tough to do and they could not refuse to admit anyone who opted out for any reason as long as they fill out the opt out paperwork. He mentioned it’s the same process as current vaccines that are “required”. It sounds like full approval is coming by August so I am sure once that happens, they will mandate. He said mask mandate would definitely remain for fall.

Honestly sounds pretty reasonable.

How much do you want to wager on that?

Barring mandatory vaccinations, you will not see vaccinations at LSU come close to those numbers.
