He went to Washington in the 70s as a low paid civil servant and now has a net worth of $40 million.
Can someone explain how that happens? Because I don’t think he’s gotten to multi-millionaire status by “paying his fair share.”

The Fair Tax is the only way to accomplish this.
Rich people buy more shite, they pay more taxes. Who cares about the very few millionaires that are tight asses.
Note:. The Fair Tax has methods for making sure the bottom 50% don't pay any taxes. Also it has methods to make sure the evil corporations don't have windfall profits.

This is just the government saying the wealthy have more money to take so why not go after it. I expect it from the government, what blows my mind is any average citizen cheering for higher taxes. There are people that think the government deserves more money.

I doubt Biden was making this distinction because he's f'n retarded, but to the discussion in this thread he mentioned "wealthy" - and "wealthy" is very different from high income. The very wealthy in this country pay little income tax because they're really smart people, and know how to live off of assets as opposed to relying on income.
