Yes, and I pointed out the same coincidence to Mrs. Midnight just the other day.

There's not much more compelling to me than a silent killer. And people performing heroic tasks.

I also can't get enough communist Russia, which is scary all by itself WITHOUT a nuclear meltdown.

This is a great, great series. I love HBO's limited series in general--The Night Of, Mare of Easttown, etc.

The funny thing is, although the failings of communism helped to create this disaster...

Nothing but a communist country could have responded effectively to the disaster.

They just threw people at it with zero regard for life because that's the way it works there.

I think that is just as much Russian culture that wouldn't been necessary in the west, the CIA would not keep a major flaw in the nuclear reactors from the nuclear scientists and people running the plants

I read one Russian ex-pat's opinion and he said they absolutely nailed everything, every little bit of Russian culture, lifestyle, dress, all of it.

I spent a week in a Russian chemical plant, and I'd agree with that. They put in a hell of a lot of work on the details, and it showed.

Just started today.

The British accents are distracting.
I get that it is for English speakers but somehow all the Russians with British accents is ridiculous.

Edit: Ok. I take it back.

And we are moving that direction

I’ve only watched one episode and that scum is exactly the type I picture in Washington right now.
