If you like true crime and you want to hear about local, true crime, check this dude out. He’s a former Livingston Parish Sheriff and State Trooper.

It gets really gruesome at times because he describes crime scenes as he remembers them, but Jesus it’s compelling.

If you’re going to listen, I recommend that you start with episode one of the “Monsters” series. Best series he’s done IMO.

Does he still have the other guy on with him? I used to listen all the time, but got annoyed all the time because it was two people talking in different locations and they'd talk all over each other. The audio quality was pretty poor at times too.

But the stories are great.

It’s just Woody now. Audio can struggle at times when he doesn’t do it from his normal location, but the stories are fricking crazy.

Wife’s family isn’t happy about it but he actually did an episode on their family for an episode.

Somewhat spoiler:

Y’all sure he shouldn’t start with the crackhead who bled out from his arse and died?

The Courtney Coco cold case is the podcast that catapulted his popularity.

I recommend listening to that one as supposedly arrests are imminent.

It was Jim Rathmann; he played on the 03 Championship team. He was also a decorated veteran and was in the Secret Service. They did talk over each other some, but I liked that it seemed spontaneous. Woody does a great job on his own, though.

Pretty ironic with me participating in this thread....I just got a push notification for an episode that dropped earlier since I'm subscribed to the show on Google Podcasts. It came to my phone about 20 mins ago.

It's just some promotion Woody is doing called the "2nd Annual Krewe Bash Promo".

We went to the first one downtown Baton Rouge. The show is fricking legit. I've been a listener since the beginning.

Woody doesn't sugar coat shite. He will make you squirm listening to how he gets sicko child rapists to confess. And he's candid about shite, not some cocky prick you see on some of the detective shows. His delivery is very down to earth.

HEED MY WARNING PEOPLE.
To Paraphrase Woody in an early episode: "This motherfricker was a bad arse and just killed a defenseless girl and when the cops show up takes off and hides in the woods like a little bitch." That's Woody telling it like it is. Good stuff.

Oh and the Music and Vocals are done by Toby and Shelli Tomplay. Toby helped Woody up his production quality from the early episodes to what you hear now.

I wouldn't recommend starting with Monsters. Start with the first episode and go in order. Many of the early episodes are the best and you'll recognize the crimes/victims/criminals.

Episode 1:Double Clutch and Christine Constance from Feb 9, 2019.

So I'm on part 7 of the Monster and the grandmother being murdered in Denham Springs.

Holy cow this is white trash overload. I mean, it fits EVERY white trash stereotype on steroids.

SPOILERS

Monsters

Was there mention if the grandaughter helped or was just there?

It seems like she did being that her DNA was at the scene and also her hands were apparently cut and damaged.

Mikelbr and for some of those who listen, The Courtney Coco case, what happened to her friend? Who was the girl that was there at the party that made the phone calls at 4 am from Courtney's phone? She obviously knows something. Lied about her being high and drunk as shite.
