400 amp meter base for underground connection

I am kind of in a bind. building a new house and ordered the 400 amp underground meter combo box back in march and it still isnt in. We have temp power running for now, but does anyone know any place that has the combo base and the breakers in stock?

I picked up a combo square D 200 amp from Stine last month. I didn't notice if they had combo 400 amps tho.

Same thing happened to the people that just built a few doors down from us. They are still running on the temp power meter almost 6 months after moving in.

Is this for residential service? WTF is driving you to a 400A service?

i mis typed. I have a 200 amp main up stairs and one downstairs. need dual 200's at the meter base to feed it.

Do you really need this much power if it’s just a residential home?
Perhaps there’s another way to solve this problem and use a typical 200A service.

Get a 320A meter base and an outdoor panel that can hold (2) 200A breakers.
Siemens makes a panel like this that should be readily available and on the shelf in new orleans.
Thatd be another option.

yes i do, its a large home with a full mother in law quarters so extra kitchen, LR and master suite.
Im actually trying to do the 2 200Amp service plus a couple of other slots for the pool that will be installed next summer.

htat is the backup plan if we have to. Right now, local place has ordered the parts individually and will just build the panels in house, found that out late yesterday. If that falls through I have a 320 meter base lined up and will get the outdoor panel as I found those yesterday too.

I'm in the business on the distribution side. any underground power panels have been pretty hard to come by for the last year or so. I have the overhead version in stock, and if your utility is anyone other than Entergy, you could probably get by with it. shite out of luck if an Entergy customer though. Might have to just get a meter, trough and 2 disconnects.

Siemens has been out of stock on the Entergy approved underground for about 6 months now (model MC0816B1400SDL)

yes i do, its a large home with a full mother in law quarters so extra kitchen, LR and master suite.

I am entergy so SIL. Trying to get a custom one built, we shall see.
wasnt really going to post size but since its not the OT and keep getting asked...
maybe you are right, but the house ot 5k+ sf and has 4 seperate AC units and full MIL apartment, 5 garages and a pool/hot tub...so maybe i dont but i will be pulling a lot of amperage.
i have almost every thing i can get to make it energy effecient, but electrician, whom i trust, says that is what i need so gonna go with him. He has helped me out plenty in the past so no reason to doubt him especially with the amount of arse chewings he has been getting over the panel issue.
