Got an email yesterday from the dealer I bought my side by side from a few years ago offering to buy it back because they are extremely low on inventory.
Must be pretty bad to get to that point where your begging for buybacks

I was offered 3k over retail for my 4 seater a few weeks ago.
I ordered a new one same day. Hoping to be in in october
Guy said offer may go down on mine if I keep it until then... And yet his floor is empty and mine is like new.

And how much over retail did you pay for the new one?
Simple economics says they can’t pay you more than it’s worth on the used one unless you pay more than it’s worth on the new one

No, simple economics says that if they finance his used one at 10% to a baw flush with child tax credit money on a low note for 8 years, they come out ahead.

Ugh.
I paid 2800 below msrp last year.
Current nada on the unit is 3k above msrp.
I have roughly 3k in accessories on it.
The new one is something that is available to order because of its price. My used one is not available to order.
I owe 4k on the current one. I'll put down 3k in cash on the new one, effectively pay zero taxes. And end up with a 30k side by side with no note.
I'm not that guy who got screwed on a tundra.

I have been selling mine back to the dealer almost as soon as I get it. Making a cool 150 on each buy back deal. I asked the dealer how he makes money whn he buys back at more than cost and he told me 'volume'.
