We stopped in last weekend and ordered almost everything that jumped out.

Lobster and fries: lobster was slightly under done, fries topped in lobster butter were amazing.

Tomato bread: toast slathered in very rich tomato and garlic spread.

Jamon bites: a little light on the ham, and only three of them. But good enough we ordered three more orders.

Hash: with chorizo and eggs. Chorizo was very lean and smoked beyond what I like. Everyone else loved it. Ordered multiples.

Lamb kabobs: light, a little gamey, extraordinary.

Peppers: only time I've ever had some of these be spicy. Was an awesome cleanser.

Caeser salad: I can't explain why, but it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Shaved park topped with a light curry spice and a few chick peas tossed in.

Seafood paella: split a small between four people. AWESOME fresh shrimp and fish.

I'm missing half the menu.

We spent $300 on just food. Only ordered two entrees and likely a dozen or more small plates.

I will add, they were fairly generous with their whiskey and wine pours (I really wish there were some south American choices available).

Bartender made a very nice old fashion as well as was kind enough to humor my eccentric request regarding vermouth in a martini.

Will definitely be going back.

I have eaten at Solera three times in the last month. Each meal was perfect.

I really like the pork cheeks and steak and frites. I find the food to be very creative and well prepared. Their wine list has some nice Spanish options but I don’t recall any S American wines.

I have had their pretzel bread pudding for dessert and their manchego cheese cake and liked both of them.

I think they could do a better job with their music selections but that may just be my old guy talking.

Nice place, will be back.

Glad you posted this. I like Solera and go every so often, but I never think to get the caesar salad.. which is one of my favorite foods.

I've been wanting to go in and try the lobster fries.

In a general way, paella generally has less heat and lots of saffron.

Solera has pretty good seafood paella. It isn't quite as complex as some I have had though.

Gonna need an explanation here. A martini is gin and vermouth, what is so eccentric about that?

It’s really good. I think they’re owned at least partially maybe completely by the folks at Bin 77

History: Legend has it that Sir Winston Churchill liked his Martinis served without the vermouth actually being added to the drink, just present in the same room. He is quoted as saying of the drink, "Glance at the vermouth bottle briefly while pouring the juniper distillate freely."

I like it swirled in the glass and then discarded, or the really fancy places with a mister spray bottle that just spritz the glass.

Some places will glug a good bit in there, and I'm not a fan.

Well versed in all the stories of Churchill's martini (other version was he would glance or bow in the direction of France) or Hemingway's "Monty" martini which was a derisive swipe at General Montgomery's refusal to engage the Germans unless he had a 15:1 advantage in manpower (hence Hemingway's martini, 15 parts gin, 1 part vermouth).

But all of that is hog wash. A martini should be vermouth heavy. I like 2 dashes of orange bitters, 1 part vermouth, 4 gin.

Which reminds me of another martini story and this lawyer who had his martini recipe printed on the back of his business card. Pretentious? Yes. Did it insure his martini no matter where he was in the world was perfect to his taste? Yes.

We went for the 1st time last December, since then been back 10X, including a dinner for 20. It is one of the few unique experiences in BR dining, there are many dishes you won't find anywhere else.
