RSV in adults?

Last week my ten month old came down with RSV. He was down hard for a couple days with high fever and blue fingers a few times. He’s completely back to normal other than antibiotics for an ear infection.
Doctor confirmed RSV not COVID. Initially I read that adults basically see nothing from it.
Well I’ve had very mild sinus symptoms for a day or two. Tonight I felt some general body aches. Chalked it up to old age and moving, chasing kids, etc.
Then tonight I wake up from a dead sleep with uncontrollable chills and shivers. Low grade fever. Only way to stop shaking was sweat shirt sweatpants and heating pad. Fell asleep for a few more hours. Cant rest anymore but I feel a bit more stable.
Anecdotally I know several others who have come down with something like COVID that isn’t COVID. Anyone else get rocked here recently when your kids got RSV. I guess it could be COVID but it’s just logical to be RSV because my sons daycare was eat up with it. I genuinely didn’t think it was supposed to rock an adult like this. I did see a few articles about RSV surging right now.

Usually RSV is a simple cold in adults and even toddlers
So having fever and chills seems a bit much, but not out of question

I’ve got a 12 month old and we all got RSV about 6 weeks ago. I got my 2nd COVID shot right as the RSV symptoms set in. That shite was rough. Baby was sick for a few days and ended up with ear infections and still had fluid on his ears but is otherwise fine.
Hand foot and mouth is the real scary shite. It broke out in his class but he didn’t get it.

My 9 month old has it now (though not as severe as your baby). I have a mild cold by comparison, but still feel like crap. He had croup last month. His doctor said there are a ton of respiratory viruses going around at the moment.

When our toddler got RSV around 10mo old, we were knocked out for a month. Lots of fluid in our ears, cough, etc.
This was the Jan/Feb right before COVID, so who knows what it was. But baby tested positive for RSV.
eta: HFMD just made its rounds in our area. Don’t trust when a Dr says adults don’t get it.

I have a 20 month old.
In those 20 months, I’ve gotten both RSV and Hand Foot Mouth.
Both were hell. HFM was worse. Ulcers everywhere on my tongue and in my throat. Plus flu like symptoms.
I was convinced my kid was gonna kill me.

No, but I did get fricked by Hand, Foot, Mouth disease. My hands are still recovering. Two days of fever and terrible chills followed by two days of non-stop itching in my hands and feet, then a week of blisters on hands and feet, and then lost most of the skin on my fingers, and my hands are still peeling 4 weeks later. I still can't open jars or cans.
I didn't start a whiny thread.
Thus, quit being a pussy with your weak-arse RSV bullshite.
ETA: Damn, look at all the HFM shite in adults. Parents, pay attention. This shite is no joke. I would take COVID again 10 times rather than HFM one more time.

RSV shouldn't be doing much of anything to an adult with a properly functioning immune system.

My one year old grandson had a bad case of RSV, and then our two y/o and 3 y/o grandsons also caught it. Well, they were climbing and snotting all over me for several days and of course I came down with it. Technically I had it but our doctor said adults just basically get a cold. In any case it sucked. And no it wasn't Covid. I tested negative at work.

I am still trying to get over this nasty cold.
Woke up last Thursday with a bad sore throat which only lasted one day which turned into a nasty cough all weekend. I feel fine outside of the cough, but it is a nasty hacky cough. I actually woke up a couple times this week with chills too. When I go workout, I start sweating immensely

I've gotten a couple of severe colds since we've sent the kiddo to daycare. No chills but I think since things are opening back up, the cold virus is picking up quite a bit.

There is some badass respiratory virus going around my work. Everyone who got tested was negative and it only seems to last for a few days. But everyone who gets it, ends up on antibiotics with a sinus infection or bronchitis or both. ‘Twas a good week to take my vacation.

I saw on the news last night that RSV is running rampant right now. MASK UP for RSV!
