Do all these systems work for horizontal views like looking at trees along the bank or shallow water docks? Are some better suited for that than others?

Both Livescope and Active Target have a horizontal mode. I have never bothered to use mine that way. Very few users post positive experiences with it.

Well the easy part is done, now to mounting it. Going with some quick connect mounts so I can remove it when I'm at the coast so it doesn't beat to death and sprayed with saltwater.

That's my current set up. Soon, that 93 is goin to the console for side imaging, and a new 106 is going on the bow.

Here's probably the best video example of it I have seen because it's under a minute with zero talking and the fish bites three times.

Jacob Wheeler did a short review on Lowrance vs Hummingbird . He gave the edge to Lowrance.

Yes, yes, you do.

OP, good choice on your bundle. Make sure to look at pictures of orientation of transducer for forward view and down view etc.
Alx and I both had ours originally oriented incorrectly. Hard as hell to find a jig when the ‘ducer is pointed backwards lol.

What my best option to mount to our main guide boat for locating alligators after a customer shoots one? We rush to the spot and power-pole down, but I think today's technology could help a lot of the blind throwing we do with the weighted grapples.
Thanks guys, as always

I watched that review and was leaning towards Lowrance but the national 60 day backorder was a deal breaker.

Well finished up install about 11:30 last night. Couple of observations, the big plug on the transducer sucks, drilling 1 1/4+" holes in your fiberglass is not ideal. Also, I wasn't planning to need such big wire for the black box buy apparently it pulls some power so I had to run to get some 10 gauge and run up through my rigging tube up to the front of boat. The whole transducer cord flopping in the wind due to having a Minn Kota and having to mount the transducer on the motor also seems janky. With it being a dual purpose boat and me not wanting the unit up there while in saltwater it is going to be more on PIA to remove than I thought. About to hit the road and hopefully all works correctly later today when I get on the water. I will try to get some pics but it isn't finished out yet like I want it but it should work for the weekend.

I think there are special mounts for this. What model? Terrova?

I have active target and it’s not crap. It’s on par with my brothers live scope. Very view difference other than live scope has more adjusting and setting that Active Target has available now. But those adjustments are coming next software update

I just had to buy a new system. Could not get my transducer out of my old boat when selling it. Those double cables got in a bind around something.

Mega Live is Here.

I would be somewhat disappointed if I were a dedicated bird guy. Looks barely better than first gen Panoptix.

Got the email. Called tackle Warehouse and they have not yet received shipments. But they still have me in the system. I hope I'm an expert by the end of the summer.

I would cancel if I were you. The first tip off was no black box. Bird fans were excited about that. I was cautious. Now seeing it, it's pretty clear this is first gent panoptic/livesight.

If you really want forward facing sonar, add a Lowrance or Garmin.
