I would train myself to do this, but I don't want to do it on weekends because I love staying up late on Friday/Saturday nights.

I don't think you can do this 5 days a week and not the other 2. It's an all or none type situation.

So I go to bed at 11 and wake up at 630.

I try to get my 11 year old daughter to stay up late so that she will sleep late. That way we sleep late. Or she'll crawl in our bed with her ipad.

You get excited about life. I can’t wait to wake up. Not saying that it’s easy rolling out of bed but once my feet hit the floor at 4:15 I’m ready to go.

I’m retired and was sleeping until 9 to 9:30 and easily sleeping 10+ hours a night. I don’t nap during the day. I changed to an alarm at 7:00am to be on a schedule and that is working well for me. After 2 hours of coffee and reading I am ready to move on to whatever is happening that day.

I haven’t read this whole thread so it was probably mentioned, but look into The Miracle Morning. There are free ebooks on this if you look hard enough

Some people are just wired differently. My dad used to wake up every day at 4-5 am, take a nap in the early afternoon, and go to sleep about midnight.

And I'm not just making this shite up, it's published medical information from one of the leading sleep experts in the world.

This guy?

quote:

Why We Sleep was subject to criticism by Alexey Guzey, an independent researcher with a background in economics, in an essay entitled "Matthew Walker's 'Why We Sleep' Is Riddled with Scientific and Factual Errors".[18][19]

Guzey, together with Andrew Gelman, a statistician at Columbia University, accused Walker of falsification of data in an article published in Chance.[20] Guzey and Gelman argued that "it is unethical to reproduce a graph and remove the one bar in the original graph that contradicts your story".[20] Gelman suggested that the case entered into the territory of "research misconduct"

quote:

Walker failed to disclose that numerous meta-analyses involving over 4 million adults found the lowest mortality was associated with 7 hours of sleep, and that the increased risk of death associated with sleeping more than 7 hours was significantly greater than the risk of sleeping less than 7 hours as defined by a J-shaped curve. Psychologist Stuart J. Ritchie criticised Walker's approach in his book. "Walker could have written a far more cautious book that limited itself to just what the data shows, but perhaps such a book wouldn’t have sold so many copies or been hailed as an intervention that ‘should change science and medicine'".

Likewise for the week, everybody walks their dogs around 7 AM. So we walk our dog at 6 AM to beat the crowd.

There is a big enough crowd of people walking their dogs at 7am that you have to wake up early to avoid them?

As you start in public accounting? I’m so confused by this post.

When I worked at home the past year (March 2020 - March 2021), my arse woke up - or at least stayed in bed, until 8:30 on the dot. Then I'd walk my arse to my PC, log in, then start cleaning my apartment or whatever else I needed to do like laundry. Man I miss it.

Work out twice in a day. Get very sleepy. Go to bed early. Rinse. Repeat.

Do this enough days in a row and you’ll adjust.

I am generally up shite, showered and shaved by 3:45AM. It becomes a routine.

I usually start the GMT at 4:00AM on the dot.

Jump in the shower as soon as you wake up.
Scrub your limbs toward your heart. It stimulates your veins and gets your nerve endings fired up.

Got to bed by 7:30 or 8. Don’t drink a lot. Most of the time. Yesterday I drank a case of beer but I started at 6:17AM and finished at 2:00PM. Then I drank water. A lot of it.

Don’t eat too late or heavy.
