Got madden 21 today for 20 bucks

Holy shite it’s terrible. The last madden I played was 17 with Odell on the cover and was really looking forward to having some fun with the rpo stuff advanced routes and playing with the young qbs like burrow, Murray and mayfield but the mechanics are terrible and now every team has a superhero basically? Mahomes can throw 25 yards down field on the run across his body? I know I’m late to all this shite but holy frick this is not a football game this is some weird Mario golf shite it feels like.

the only hope for gaming franchises like Madden, 2K, NHL and the Show is for them to stop feeling the need to come out with a new game every year.
Invest in one title for 2 years and just release roster updates while you work on a new title. That's the only way any of these games will get better.

The Madden shell they use every year to crank out games is dated and unrealistic. I won’t buy another Madden game unless major changes are made. It’s beyond ridiculous

I haven’t bought it in years but I downloaded this one on gamepass. There’s so much shite going on with pop ups, presentation, etc that it just isn’t a good game. It’s like they’ve regressed a good bit from a decade plus ago in regards to just making a fun, responsive game to play.

What was or is the name of the engine they use across almost all sports now? I remember them hyping that years ago or it isn't frostbite is it?
I really hope the new NCAA Football gets something new if it's based off same engine it's doomed.

They moved to the Frostbite engine with Madden 18.

I used to be able to have fun just picking up a sports game and destroying the cpu in games for a few seasons before putting it down. They all seem so buggy now that even that it's no longer possible to do that

Wow, came on this board because I was thinking of getting it, and there’s a topic on page 1.
I haven’t bought a football game since NCAA 11 or 12, was looking to play the college mode or whatever it’s called on the newer Madden. Is it really that bad for that (I’d be playing on PS4).

The ruined the Madden engine once they rushed from Xbox to Xbox 360. I downloaded and played the Gamecube version of 07 and forgot just how freaking smooth the game used to be.
