Not all cops are bastards

Working at the VA today and got a call from a police officer in a small town in SC. They had picked up a homeless Veteran who was begging on the street and had a crack pipe on him. Instead of arresting him they contacted the VA to try to get him help. And before someone asks, I don’t know the race of the Veteran as that wasn’t relevant, only his status as a Veteran.

The vast majority of them are not, but the ones that are, can be real bastards and those are the ones you do hear about. Glad you had a REAL story about the ones that are hardly ever mentioned in any context.

I really feel touched about how much effort Trump put into getting the VA back on track, but he unfortunately didn't have another 4 years to get it rolling. The VA continues to fail the veterans and it's very sad.

I know about 20 cops personally and not one of them is a “bastard”. Each and every one of them are family men and do their job regardless of race, each and every time. If they are called to a situation, the only regard is address, not race or sex. This nonsense has to stop. It is to the detriment of all of us.

I'll have an unpopular opinion here but I think there are a lot of dick cops. I don't think they are out killing black people for no reason..but the personality of quite a few is dickish. Most have father's though. The people they arrest don't.

Just want to say that I appreciate that you’re sticking it out at the VA. I go to the VA in Asheville and that fine little psych doc leading our group meetings is easily an OT 6.45.

So true...
I view this as a fad with the kids. It's an easy bandwagon to jump on to stick it to the man. The narrative that, "We are being killed in the streets", is just like the 60's Vietnam protests calling troops "baby killers"... Of course everyone can get easily defend not killing babies. It is an easy wagon to jump on, but it is not the truth.

In my 40 years of going to gym I've met at least 10 cops. All of them were very nice guys. And all of them admitted that there are a lot of cops who need to join a gym because they're too fat to chase a criminal on foot.
